What we Believe
We are 10,000 nurses across nine campuses, bringing an extraordinary amount of intelligence, experience, critical thinking, problem solving and advocacy to our union,
We believe leadership should bring that collective strength forward. It should listen, communicate openly, provide members with the information they need, and create meaningful opportunities for nurses to participate in shaping the direction of their union,
Leadership is not about being the voice of 10,000 nurses. It is about making sure the 10,000 nurses have a voice.
We are them. And they are us.

WE ARE PREPARING TO LEAD NOW
What is the Leadership Command Center?
We are not waiting until after the election to begin preparing.
We have developed a working blueprint for the responsibilities elected leadership would need to receive, verify, secure, assign, approve, and monitor.
A Local representing nearly 10,000 nurses across nine campuses requires structure, shared responsibility, secure records, clear deadlines, and accountability. It cannot operate through text messages, individual memory, or information controlled by only one or two people.
The Leadership Command Center is designed to help the entire Executive Board understand its responsibilities, track the work of the Local, protect important information, and ensure that legal, financial, operational, and representational duties are not missed.
This is not a collection of decisions made by one person. It is a foundation our entire leadership team will review, challenge, strengthen, and approve together.
We are preparing now because responsible leadership begins before Election Day.

SOURCES AND GOVERNING REFERENCES
This leadership blueprint is grounded in the IBT Constitution, federal labor reporting and trusteeship requirements, Department of Labor guidance, applicable tax filing requirements, the Local 2024 collective bargaining agreement, and the Local's bylaws once adopted. Operational systems described here remain subject to IBT verification or approval where required, and review and approval by the elected Executive Board.
The governing sources establish responsibilities. The primary owner, backup, deadline, approval path, and documentation of completion are our proposed accountability system, not requirements imposed by every cited source.

OUR PRIORITIES
KNOWLEDGE
An informed and educated membership is a powerful membership. Our goal is to provide clear contract education, ongoing learning opportunities, and practical resources so nurses understand their rights, their contract and how their union works. We are equally committed to the ongoing education and development of our Executive Board in union governance, representation and leadership so those elected to serve are continually building the knowledge required to serve well.
STRUCTURE
10,000 nurses across nine campuses require strong systems, We will establish clear expectations and resources for stewards, business agents, strengthen grievance representation, and develop consistent Unit Practice Council guidelines so nurses have effective representation and meaningful participation across our Local.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Members deserve leadership that is accessible, transparent and accountable. We will communicate clearly, listen to members, show up, and follow through. We will be accountable for the decisions we make, the resources entrusted to us, the commitments we make to members, and the work we were elected to do. We will evaluate our progress, acknowledge when something is not working, and make changes when needed.
VISION
The work toward our next contract begins now. We will advance safe staffing, build member involvement, document workplace issues and prepare strategically for 2029. We will build on relationships already established with nurse union leaders and labor advocates in Michigan and across the country, creating opportunities to share knowledge, strategies and resources that strengthen Local 2024.

I have had the honor and privilege of working with Katherine Wallace and Suzi Carbone. They have shown themselves to be leaders of unquestionable moral rectitude. I have witnessed these ladies carry themselves with the highest level of integrity in upholding our nursing code of ethics time and time again
— listening to and advocating for patients, listening to and advocating for us.
They have been prudent, reliable, and supportive listeners for our concerns
both big and small. Every time I work with them I am inspired by their
benevolence and compassion. I
have watched them do the right thing over and over — even when it means more work for them. They have given so much of their time, energy, heart, and soul into creating a starting point for us to build a community and career that we can love and be proud of, and will support us in return.
I could not be more proud or more grateful to have these ladies representing us in the service of our union, and in turn, to stand behind and support them.
Nurses for nurses.
Solidarity forever.

I endorse Michella Vincent for Vice President of our executive board because she is hardworking and focused!
Since the beginning of our Teamsters journey, she has put herself in the forefront to gain knowledge in order to educate everyone else who had questions or concerns.
If she didn't know the answer, she wouldn't stop until she found it. She is dedicated, and fights for us because she knows we deserve it!
